本アートプロジェクトのコンセプトが「もしマリーアントワネットが現在の原宿に生まれ変わったら」なのは、
日本のロリータファッションは彼女が生きた時代に最も影響を受けている
と捉えているからです。
It is because we believeLolita fashion in Japan is most influenced
by the period she lived in that the concept of our
project is ”What if Marie Antoinette was re-born in modern day Harajuku?”
マリーアントワネットが日本の少女に影響を与えたきっかけは、1970年に原宿にロリータファッションのはしりとされるブランドMILKが立ち上がり、その後すぐ、彼女の一生をテーマにし、日本の少女たちから爆発的な人気を得た漫画だと考えます。
それが『ベルサイユのばら』です。
It seems that a certain comic led Marie
Antoinette to influence Japanese girls.
In1970, MILK, the forerunner of Lolita
fashion, was established in Harajuku.
Soon
after that, a cartoon that described the life of Marie Antoinette gained
tremendous popularity among them.
That
is “The Rose of Versailles”.
『ベルサイユのばら』では大きな目、尖った鼻、尖った顎、金髪の髪、長い手足など、現在の漫画にも繋がる外見的特徴が描かれ、ロリータファッションに象徴される装飾性の高いドレスが着用されています。
この『ベルばら』によって少女達の美的感覚が180度変化したとも言えるでしょう。
その影響力は40年以上たった現在でもロリータファッションに反映されています。
In “The Rose of Versailles”, physical
features and highly decorative dresses symbolized by Lolita fashion were drawn
such as big eyes, sharply pointed noses and chins, blond hair, long arms and
legs, which could be seen in modern comics.
It is not an exaggeration to say this ”Berubara”(a
Japanese abbreviation of “The Rose of Versailles”) absolutely changed sense of
